Carla Sharp

I began my career in healthcare in 1994 at Citizens Medical Center, Inc. as the Administrative Assistant to the CFO and in 1998 I transferred to the Human Resources department as the Benefits Specialist.  I joined KHHRA the same year and have been involved in the membership as a District Director and of course moved on up the positions of the KHHRA Board to President in 2011.   I have been with Citizens Medical Center, Inc. for (17) years and (13) of those years in Human Resources.

I have two beautiful children, Desire’e is 27 years old and works at Salina Regional Health Center as a MRI Tech and Jordan is 25 years old and he is an AFLAC agent who is in CIT training to become the Northwest Regional Manager.  I am very lucky to have my children in my life and thank God each day for them.

This time on the Board has been very special to me and I have enjoyed the years I have served KHHRA.

I have been with Newton Medical Center 4+ years. Prior to Newton, I was an HR leader with Providence Health System in Oregon. I've been in HR roles since 1989.  I enjoy serving on the KHHRA Board as it provides an opportunity to work together with other hospital HR leaders from across the state in creating and delivering services and support to our members.
