ASHHRA convened its second Thought
Leader Forum, Saturday, October 11,
2008 in Austin Texas, prior to the
44th ASHHRA Annual Conference and
Exposition.
A select group of thought
leaders—health care workforce and
quality experts— were invited to
participate in the two hour session
to discuss,
“Workforce Issues in Health Care.”Results of the
session have been compiled in a
summary of findings and are being
shared with ASHHRA members, as well
as all AHA-member CEOs and
participants, and is now available
on the ASHHRA Web site,
www.ashhra.org.
“The forum provided an outstanding
opportunity for health care leaders
to identify today’s major workforce
challenges and the many ways HR
professionals should lead efforts
and initiatives to address those,”
said ASHHRA president Jeanene
Martin. “The information provided in
this summary will be beneficial to
all health care leaders; it takes
all of us to plan for and ensure a
productive workforce.”
Thought Leader Forums, a series
under the direction of the ASHHRA
Think Tank, provide a vehicle for
ASHHRA to garner the most vital
health care issues and trends to
help its members become
well-equipped to successfully lead
their organizations into the future.
A third Thought Leader Forum, “The
Role of HR in Advancing Operational
Efficiencies,” is scheduled for July
23, 2009 in San Francisco at the
17th Annual Health Forum and AHA
Leadership Summit.
